Historical Character Night - Friday February 10 at 6:00 pm
Lynnb — Wed, 01/18/2012 - 5:53pm
This is a night of historical proportions
Get ready for a fun game of ‘Guess Who’ right here at First Agape! All you need to do is select a person from history, do some research on them, and then you email me who you selected and what they did that was so important. Then you get to find out if anyone can guess who you are!
All you need to email me with by Feb. 8th is:
1. Your name
2. Who is your historical character
That’s it! It’s a fun time with your friends guessing who’s who… but don’t tell anyone who you are… that is the fun … finding out is half the fun! This is open to all grades even adults.
What you need to do is come up with facts about your character. Start with the easiest information that doesn’t give too much information out, and then have it get harder with each clue. By the end of the clues, we should be able to guess who your character is.
Example: (one done from years ago)
1. I am a man.
2. I was born on Jan. 22nd, 1561 and I died on April 9th, 1626.
3. I was an English philosopher, statesman, scientist, lawyer, jurist and author.
4. I served both as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England.
5. Although my political career ended in disgrace, I remained extremely influential.
6. I formulated the scientific method that includes characterization, hypothesis, predictions, and experiments. I was knighted in 1603.
7. I wrote an essay called, "Of Wisdom for a Man's Self".
8. In it I wrote, "Be so true to thyself, as thou be not false to others."
9. I died and didn’t have any children.
10. I died a martyr to science after a harebrained scheme to test the effects of cold on decaying meat. (I tried to preserve a chicken by stuffing it with snow)
11. I caught a cold and then I developed bronchitis and died.
12. Who am I? (if they don’t figure out who I am here is another clue… #13)
13. Clue: My name is a food that comes from pigs. Who am I?
Also, people have added on to their character like a dance, music, dressing up, making a skit… it is up to you how you want to present your character. However you do it, make it fun. If you have fun with it, so will everyone else!
Now… just email your name and which character you are presenting by February 8th at 9pm.
