Excellence in Writing Level C2- Comparisons b/w Twain and Dickens
LindaA — Wed, 02/01/2012 - 10:41am
Using your three stories from last week, write another paper using on of these two styles:
- Mark Twain (used contractions, intentional errors, style was sentence openers 1, 2, 5 and but, used em dashes--, dual adjectives, clausals, parenthesis, there are no words "is- was- are" but rather stronger verbs, and used VSS)
- Charles Dickens (used lots of quotes, triples, alliteration, no parenthesis, used who/which, ly words, VSS, questions, interjections, and and buts)
So, from your three stories, choose one to write a story using one of these two styles of writing. You do not use your regular writing style we have been using in the past 2 years.
If you have not handed in your last fable using poetry or satire, please hand that in next week.
