Tour and Studio Project:  “What is Art?”

This tour focuses on the integral question, “What is Art?” and guides students’ exploration of modern and contemporary art, and its comparisons and relationships to traditional works of art, as they consider artists’ choices, influences, and the message and language artists often employ in their works.  A post-tour activity in the museum’s studios will include a graphic design project to reinforce the tour.

Sign up:  The deadline to sign up is Thursday, March 25, 2010.

Cost:  $4.00  Please leave cash or a check made out to the Currier Museum of Art in the office upstairs.

Restrictions:  This field trip is for grades 6 – 12 only.  There is a limit of 12 students.  Similar programs for students in grades 2 – 5 are available.  If enough parents indicate an interest we will set up a program for younger children.  If you would like more information please email me at fcdemore@comcast.net.
