Simple Machines Homework:
We talked about work and friction this week. We did a few experiments. One was rubbing your hands alone. Then we added lotion and we noticed it made the work a little harder- especially when it started to dry. Then we added lotion again, but we added sand to it. We found that is was harder than the last. It still made friction, though. So what they need to do, if they did not finish it in class, is the lab 3 and 4. This is where they need to write down what they learned and add it to their notebook.
We are now learning about incline planes. We will do experiments along with a learning time. We will still be doing the lap book along with the simple machine we will talk about. Keep an eye on the amount of glue they used. You may find they need another glue stick.
The class is going along smoothly. Sometimes the students get a little loud while I am talking. Please make sure they understand when I am doing the lesson, they need to listen at that time. There will be time for experiments, but if I spend too long on the lesson becuase I have to keep repeating myself over the voices, we will not have the time for the fun.
