Homeschool families: Are you looking for help meeting the physical education requirements? Do you want an activity for your children that will train them physically and reinforce life skills in a caring Christian atmosphere? Consider the ATA Karate Center of Candia. ATA Karate Center of Candia offers excellent programs that promote physical fitness, while also learning aspects of martial arts such as board breaking, sparring, weapons and self defense. A core part of our curriculum is teaching children courtesy, respect, discipline, goal setting, and more.

Owned and operated by the Pages, a homeschooling, Christian family from Candia, the ATA Karate Center has weekday classes specifically designed for homeschool families. "We’re just five minutes down the road from the First Assembly of God Church, for families who come out Tuesdays and Thursdays for the First Agape Homeschool Co-op," says Valerie Page. ATA Karate Center also has a great family plan; the first two family members pay tuition and the third and fourth members are free. "We realize that signing up a whole family for an activity can get very expensive," says Page, "It’s our hope that this Family Plan will be able to bless many home school families We also have 4 classes a week that are scheduled just for families. It is wonderful to have something like this that you can do with your children, especially teenagers."

The ATA Karate Center is a true family affair. Instructors include: Dean Page who is a 1st Degree Black Belt Instructor with the American Taekwondo Association, along with daughter, Amy Nagel who is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and Instructor Trainee; and son, Ben Page, who is a 2nd Degree Black Belt, Junior Leader. The family has won national recognition for their prowess on the mats. Dean Page is recently a gold medal 1st degree black belt 2007 World Champion in the men’s 40- to 49-year-old age division. Daughter Amy earned a 2007 Silver Medal in the women’s 1st degree black belt group, ranking her number 2 in the world in the 17- to 24-year-old age division. Fourteen year old Ben took home the forms and weapons 2007 State Title in the boys 2nd and 3rd degree black belt division.

The American Taekwondo Association does not teach the eastern philosophies, or get into anything spiritual as some forms of martial arts do.
