The children’s Karate program at American Dragon is different from other Karate schools because there is a balance between fun and discipline. Not to infer that it is playtime but instead a time to learn Karate and to reinforce social and athletic skills in children of all ages. At American Dragon, integrity, self confidence, discipline, a team attitude, and respect for themselves and others is learned.
The art of Karate is often misunderstood to teach children to fight. Although punches and kicks are used, they are combined with many other movements to create a karate form which requires concentration, memory, and physical endurance.
At American Dragon your child will not only learn Karate, he/she will also learn to be the best person they can be.
At American Dragon:
· Karate classes will be extended for a group of ten or more students during the day (exclusive for homeschoolers when the studio is normally closed)
· Credits are often earned by high school students for attending Karate classes
· Classes can be customized to Self Defense and Awareness or Karate Lessons
· Classes have been taught for the Women’s Self Defense Clinic with the Manchester Police Department for over 20 years
· Classes have been taught for pre-school students at the Meeting House Montessori School in Bow, and at the Auburn Children’s House in Auburn
· Classes have been taught for safety at the Manchester School District Visually Impaired Program
My daughter has been taking karate lessons since she was seven years old. Mr. Mullen has good leadership skills and works well with children and adults of all ages. He combines stretching, karate exercises, discipline, and personal responsibility in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. My daughter Alycia just recently tested this summer and received her Black Belt. She will continue attending classes to further her knowledge in karate, and to become certified to teach. If anyone has any questions, please call me at 644-3228.
