HB 437 - Come show your support
Lynnb — Sun, 02/05/2012 - 6:22pm
Marriage Rally
Show your support for HB 437
Legislation that returns to genuine marriage - one man & one woman
New Hampshire State House
107 North Main St. Concord
12:00 noon on Tuesday
February 7, 2012
Please arrive by 11:45 am
I recommend that people write and bring with them a note to the Governor and a note for their Senator asking them both to support HB 437. People can deliver them in person or leave them for us to deliver on their behalf. Those coming to Concord can bring letters from others who cannot make it next Tuesday. I hope everyone will make an effort to inform their elected officials how they feel about this issue.

Upcoming bills that affect home Education
Lynnb — Fri, 02/03/2012 - 2:25pm
There are several home education bills that are worth looking at and potentially supporting. Would you please let the other home schoolers know about these bills.
The final executive session is tomorrow for these bills. The committee needs to hear from home education parents.
the email address for the committee is: ~HouseEducationCommittee@leg.state.nh.us
HB1571: Removes the need for turning in the annual evaluations and eliminates the ability of the Superintendent, commissioner or principal terminate the program for failure to educate.
Here is a portion of an internal discussion on the HEC committee:
UPDATE: HB1571- that one just passed 17-0 with a recommendation of Ought to Pass out of the House Education Committee. So we'll want to watch for the full House vote on that bill

If possible I would like to speak to the group on this bill.
The other bills to look at are:
HB1382: Requiring a warrant or permission of the parent to take a child back to school for "Truancy"
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/legislation/2012/HB1382.html
HB1440:

Allowing for on-line and other types of driver-ed programs increasing the competition and lowering the cost.

Six Flags Read to Succeed
Lynnb — Tue, 01/31/2012 - 10:34pm
The Six Flags Read to Succeed Program has been changed this year. There is
no longer a need for a coordinator and each family registers on their own.
Please see the following link which contains everything you need to
participate in this great program. Thanks!
Attention all senior!
Lynnb — Tue, 01/31/2012 - 9:47am
There are several of you that have not yet turned in your pictures, money, forms or scheduled your voice overs yet. You are incurrring monthly late fees of $10 per item per month (right now that is $20 per item).
As of Feb 23 it will be a late fee of $10 per item per week.
After Feb 23 we will not accept pictures and if the voice over is not done it will not be included.
Voice overs are being done next week so if you haven't scheduled yours do it NOW. (There is a $20 late fee because it wasn't scheduled by the deadline).
Please check your graduation instructions for all details and get all required information in ASAP including late fees.
Reminder - stay home when sick!
Lynnb — Mon, 01/30/2012 - 7:43pm
This is just a reminder that if you or one of your kids is sick to please stay home! There is a nasty virus (Norwal?) as well as some respiratory infections going around right now that we dont want to spread! This is one time we can tell our kids we don't want to share!
We also have several families who have children or even the adults with a weakened immune system. Any infection can be devastating to those families. We can help by not bringing our sick ones in!
Thank you all for your help in this.
